Landscape  

At Penguin Head the headland consists of Jervis Bay sandstone and the intertidal platform consists of Wandrawandian siltstone (Geology Map, Wollongong 1:250000).

Bathymetry & Substrate

The inshore bathymetry is relatively shallow, commencing at about 2m and extending to about 12m water depth approximately 300 to 350m offshore (see Figure 1.1 – Source: MHL746 1996).

Data on ocean currents, water quality and wind can be obtained from MHL (MHL746 1996).
